If you do receive one of these phone calls we advise you to not give out any personal or financial information and hang up immediately! The IRS will not contact you via telephone or email; they usually on all occasions use postal mail as their primary source of contact. When speaking with the IRS they will always provide you immediately with their name as well as their badge # if they do not or they refuse they are not affiliated with the IRS.
