Company History

Shamrock Accounting

In 1975 Shamrock Tax Service was started and taxes were prepared from an office out of Norma Hughes' home.

In November of 1981 Norma and her daughter, Lynda Shaw, purchased a franchise, Mr. 1040 East, and opened a small office in Plaza East. After operating this franchise for several years, they left the franchise in 1986 and went back to doing business under the name of Shamrock Tax Service in Casper as well as Douglas and Cheyenne. The satellite offices were closed a couple of years later.

In 2000 Norma and Lynda moved to a bigger office in Plaza East, incorporated the business, and allowed loyal employees to buy into the business. There are now four associates that work for what has become known as Shamrock Accounting Service, Inc. Even though, over the years we have had associates retire and leave us, wee continue to provide personal service to our many valued clients.

In 2008 Colleta came to Shamrock Accounting as a front desk receptionist, at the end of the season she chose to stay with the company and train as a tax consultant. She is now President and part owner of the corporation. We see Colleta as the top accountant in the firm specializing in helping small businesses succeed.

Meaghan first came to Shamrock as a high school student helping the front desk receptionist for the season. She came back to us in 2011, trained as a tax consultant and is now an extremely valuable employee. Meaghan specializes in estate returns and assisting small businesses.

Norma opened the business in 1981, She still continues with the company as part owner, CFO, accountant and adviser. Norma enjoys seeing all of her clients, old friends, each and every year.

Our clients continue to be very important to each and every one of us. As we do enjoy meeting with our returning clients year after year, our door is always open for new clients as well.

As always, our primary goals are to earn our clients’ trust and friendship and to aid them in achieving their goals of success and excellence. We feel that our clients become our friends because we give private, personal consideration.  We are proud of the fact that many of our clients feel that, as unpleasant as paying taxes is, they are coming to have a once-a-year visit with old and dear friends.
